Zack Fischer takes home title at Visa Argentine

A clutch performance down the stretch secures Fischer his first professional victory

In December, Team Simmons Bank golfer Zack Fischer secured his first professional tournament victory at the Visa Argentine Open in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Fischer entered the tournament's final day with a three-shot lead before his competitor, Linus Lilliedahl, narrowed the gap. A lengthy par putt on the 72nd hole helped Fischer avoid a playoff round and clinch the tournament title.

Fischer earned a spot in the 2023 Open Championship thanks to his clutch performance in Argentina. The Open Championship is golf's oldest tournament and features the world's greatest players. The tournament will take place at the Royal Liverpool Golf Course on July 20-23, 2023.

Fischer joined Team Simmons Bank in February 2022. As a member of the Korn Ferry Tour, he has played in 116 Korn Ferry tournaments and eight PGA tournaments. Next summer's Open Championship will mark Fischer's second-career participation in a major championship.
